Charles William Wilson passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 80 years. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4th from the MacDowall Hall. Pastor Dan Haugen will officiate. Charles was born on April 25, 1931 to Alfred and Laura Wilson. He was the 4th child of a family of 6. Charles took his schooling at Red Wing, then stayed at home with his parents and commenced a lifetime of raising cattle and working the land. He took great pride in his cattle herd and started all his grandchildren with a prize heifer to raise as their own. He met his wife at a dance at Spruce Home in 1952 and they married in 1954. Together they raised four children. They lived in a one-room cabin in White Star for five years, then moved to his parent’s farm and lived there for sixteen years. In 1975 they bought property in the Donnybrook District where Charles and Alfreda lived until his passing. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Alfreda; his sons Brent (Ann), Doug (Nadine), Richard (Darlene); his daughter Sharon with whom he shared a special bond; his grandsons Shawn (Tanja), Scott (Sara), Dean (Alicia), Kirk (Cindy), Matthew (Katie), Markus, and Blake; his granddaughters Brigitt (Christie), Lacey, Amy and Rikki-Jean; and special great-grandchildren Casey, Reid and Ella; his sisters Laura and Elsie; his brother James Alfred; his numerous sisters-and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Laura (nee Higgison) Wilson; his sisters Bertha and Ellen; brothers-in-law John Logodin, Walter Denysiuk, Andre Fremont, Michael Kalyn. Cremation will take place after the service and a family interment will take place at a later date in the Deer Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers it is the family’s request that donations be made to the MacDowall Recreation Centre. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca.
