Charles Wilfred Elliott
May 8, 1923 – December 4, 2012
Charlie Elliott, late of Paddockwood, SK, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2012, at the age of 89 years. Charlie was born in Paddockwood in 1923, the second son of Burt and Effie Elliott. He served as an airplane mechanic with the RCAF during the Second World War. Charlie married Betty Dearing in 1950 and together they raised five sons and two daughters. He logged, farmed, and drove school bus. Charlie showed horses at many local fairs and volunteered at Pioneer Days in Saskatoon for over 3 decades. Charlie and family enjoyed many covered wagon trips. Many people knew him as “the man with the horses”. Charlie was very proud to have had a Paddockwood address his entire life, living within 10 miles of the Elliott homestead. Charlie and his dear friend Tress Jones lived in Paddockwood until his passing. Charlie was predeceased by his parents: Burt and Effie Elliott; his wife: Betty Elliott; his brothers: Orlin and Morris Elliott; his sisters-in-law: Shirley Elliott and Helen Elliot; and his brother-in-law: Les Zoerb. He leaves to mourn his passing his dear friend: Tress Jones; his brothers: Allan Elliott, Bruce (Lorna) Elliott, and Stuart (Louise) Elliott; his sister: Margaret Zoerb; his sister-in-law Edith Elliott; his sons: Bill (Karen) Elliott, Herb (Gail) Elliott, Blair (Marilyn) Elliott, Clifford (Sandra Anne) Elliott, and Wendel (Lynn) Elliott; his two daughters: Wendy Elliott (Don Anderson) and Ellen Elliott and 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 ~ 2:00 p.m. at Paddockwood School, with Elder Ray Beckman officiating. Interment to follow at Paddockwood Cemetery.
