Charles Broomfield

Charles “Chuck” Broomfield, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 90 years. Chuck was born in Roblin, Manitoba, on July 1, 1926 to parents John and Ellen Broomfield. He completed grade 11 in Roblin and was hired on with CN in 1942 where he worked until his early retirement in 1981. He then worked in the office for a trucking company until 1993. Chuck was a member of Wesley United Church, Masonic Lodge, PA Canadian Club and the PA Historical Society. He enjoyed relaxing times at the old log cabin at Round Lake with his wife Fran and later with special friend, Florence Bruce. He and Fran enjoyed many wonderful trips which they cherished long after they returned home. Chuck continued his love of travel with his partner, Florence, as long as he was able. Chuck was predeceased by: his parents; his 5 siblings; and his wife of 45 years of wedded bliss: Fran, in 1995. He is survived by: his brothers-in-law: Robert and Richard and their spouses; his special friend: Florence Bruce; his 9 nieces; his 3 nephews; his 5 step-children; and his 2 grandchildren: Samantha and Ben. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Wesley United Church, Prince Albert, SK, with Rev. Tony Thompson as Officiant. Interment will follow in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Chuck may be made to the Salvation Army, 900 Central Avenue, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 4V3.
