Casey Taylor Rosenkerr
2012 – 2024
Casey Taylor Rosenkerr, aka Little Feather, cherished soul taken too soon, departed this life on May 9, 2024, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at the tender age of 11. Born on September 16, 2012, Casey’s brief journey on this earth was marked by courage, resilience, and the purest joy.
Throughout his life, Casey faced adversity with a smile that could light up the darkest room. His laughter was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He found peace in the simple melody of “You Are My Sunshine”, a song that echoed his own ability to brighten the lives around him. He delighted in the joys of childhood, from camping trips that connected him to nature, to the wonder of a special showing of “Charlotte’s Web”. His strength and spirit were recognized in 2023 when Hope’s Home honored him as Child of the Year. Casey attended Ecole Vickers School, where he was loved by his peers and teachers alike.
A lover of books and all things celestial, Casey’s inquisitive mind was always reaching for the stars. He cherished the time spent with his school friends and the nurturing environment of his home, where his mother’s creative artworks and his father’s warm embraces were the essence of this world. Casey was not fond of the intense heat of summer, the discomfort of wind against his face, or the pungent scent of the countryside.
Left to honor Casey’s memory are his loving mother Myrna Rosenkerr, his devoted father Brian Schwehr, his caring aunties Trina Bauch and Tammy (Steven) Hennerbichler, his uncles Richard and Lawrence Rosenkerr, and a host of cousins and friends, including his extended family at Hope’s Home. He now joins his beloved grandmother Elsie Schwehr, grandfather Ivan Alexandruk, grandfather Norman Rosenkerr, and grandfather Wayne Gervais in eternal rest.
A Traditional Service to commemorate Casey’s life will be held on May 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Casey are invited to join in remembrance of a life lived with love and a spirit that will continue to inspire.
Flowers are gratefully declined. In memory of Casey, contributions may be directed to the family or to Hope’s Home (https://hopeshome.org/contact/#prince-albert), which provided support and care during his cherished life. Gray’s Funeral Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements, ensuring that Casey‘s farewell is as dignified and heartfelt as the life he led.
