Carolyn GILMORE
August 21, 1967 – May 6, 2016
Carolyn Gilmore was born in the seaside town of Newbiggin by the sea, Northumberland, England, on 21st August 1967. She is the youngest daughter of Kay and Brian Gilmore, younger sister to Alison and Ian. She had a sunny nature, always smiling. She enjoyed family holidays, camping and sailing in the lake district when she was a child. She had an artistic nature, drawing and making pottery. Her parents still have her pottery exam items. Carolyn attended Hirst High School until 16 years old. She then worked as a teaching assistant for 1 year in a local school. She then went on to work at Culpitts for 14 years, making cake decorations and designing layouts, exhibitions and displays. In her twenties and early thirties she enjoyed nights out in Whitley Bay, England with her sister Alison and friends, where she would dance the night away, this is where she met Phil in 1998 and they began dating. In 1999 their son Connor was born. They lived in Ashington where she worked as a lunchtime supervisor for three years before deciding to immigrate to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. After moving to Canada she worked at Walmart for 7 years where she was well loved. She loved the outdoor life in Canada, but not so fond of the cold. She was dragged on many adventures by Phil, but she never complained and always enjoyed these adventures. She loved to visit Banff and Canmore where her favorite pastime was shopping. Always a loving companion, mother, sister and loyal kind friend too many. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. We will never forget her. Carolyn is survived by her companion Phil Lawson; their son Connor Lawson; her parents Kay and Brian Gilmore; her sister Alison Warnes; her brother Ian Gilmore; her mother and father-in-law Pat and Patsy Lawson; her sisters-in-law Jackie and Paula; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
