Caroline Duncan

Caroline Jean Duncan (nee Heppner) was born April 22, 1952 in Prince Albert and passed away on December 29, 2015 at the Victoria Union Hospital. She is survived by Gary, her loving husband of 44 years, her two sons, Blaine (Jill) Duncan, grandchildren Shayla, Lauren, Brandon and Alec; Darrel (Leanne) Duncan and grandchildren Rhett, Emily and Brianna; daughter Cheryl (Ciarán) Downes and grandchildren Liam, Andie and Adonias; her father Abram Heppner; two sisters Geraldine Heppner and Elaine (Jim) Sorenson; brother Kevin (Darlene) Heppner.
She is also survived by five brothers-in-law, Cameron (Peggy) Duncan, Jim (Linda) Duncan, Dell (Evelyn) Duncan, Ralph (Donna) Duncan and sister in law Lois (Lloyd) Tait. Caroline was predeceased by her mother Marie Heppner; sister Tracy Heppner and in-laws Hugh and Marion Duncan.
Caroline attended Prince Charles Elementary School from Grades 1 to 8, Riverside for Grade 9 and Composite High School for Grades 10 to 12 where she met the love of her life Gary at the high school Valentine Dance. She worked for 29 years at both the Holy Family and Victoria Union Hospitals. She especially enjoyed working as the unit clerk for the day surgery department where she retired in 2006. Caroline was well known for her caring and gentle spirit and was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She always lived her life with class and grace right through to her last days. She loved tending to her flower gardens, reading, baking, curling with Gary and most of all spending time with all her children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her family doctor, Dr. Debeers, Dr. Gidi, the great staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and the nursing staff on the 5th floor at the Victoria Union Hospital.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday January 4, 2016 at MacDowall Recreation Centre with Pastor Dennis Serfas (Spiritual Care Coordinator for the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region) officiating. Private family interment will follow in the Deer Park Cemetery.
