Bruce Wright

Bruce Hamilton Wright was born to Alma (Boice) and Frank Wright on November 26th, 1923 at Tisdale, Saskatchewan. He was raised in the Leather River District where he attended the local rural school. After his schooling Bruce farmed with his father until he entered the army in January of 1942. During World War II he served his country in Canada for four years. Some of his postings included Red Deer, Alberta, Hamilton, Ontario and Pictou, Nova Scotia.
After the war and his discharge from the army, Bruce farmed with his brother Jim in the Leather River District. During this time, Bruce would also work doing seismic exploration in northern Alberta during the winter months. When he and his brother retired from farming, Bruce worked for a company out of Calgary cleaning underground lines in towns around Alberta.
Bruce retired to Melfort in 1985 and became one of the first residents in the newly built Legion Place. While residing in Melfort, he helped with farming operations in the area. In January of 2011, Bruce moved to Newmarket Manor in Tisdale and resided there until the time of his death.
Bruce is survived by his brothers Hugh of Melfort and Jim (Mary) of Tisdale, his sisters Mary Wright of Saskatoon and Mabel Rusick (Jack) of North Chili, New York, sister-in-law Alfreda Wright of Red Deer, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents Frank and Alma Wright, brother Bill, sister-in-law Edna Wright and niece Sandra Morgan.
Bruce will be missed by his family and friends.
