ISBISTER, Bruce Myron
December 29, 1951 – October 5, 2014
Bruce Isbister, age 62 of Prince Albert, SK passed away peacefully on October 5, 2014, with his family by his side. Bruce was born on December 29, 1951 in Big River, SK, 10 minutes before his identical twin brother Barry, which would result in a lifelong, inseparable bond. In 1975, Bruce began his over 30 year employment with Canada Post, a job he enjoyed right up until his retirement. On September 10, 1977, Bruce married Elaine and together they had two children, first a son, Jason and 4 years later, a daughter, Melissa. Following his retirement from Canada Post, Bruce passed his time and found continued joy in lending a helping hand to family and friends with anything they needed, whether it be mowing lawns, shoveling snow, gardening or helping with home renovations and projects. He enjoyed going for coffee with his coffee crew from the Post Office and sharing some laughs and watching the Rider game with his brother Randy. He also greatly enjoyed and valued his time spent with his Mother, Dorothy in her later years and spent many an evening playing radio bingo and sharing good memories, of course with Barry by his side. Bruce was known for his joking ways and love of laughter, never missing an opportunity to tease someone mercilessly with the goal of making them laugh or smile. Bruce will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by: his wife, Elaine and children, Jason and Melissa; brothers Barry (Gail) Isbister, Randy Isbister, Hubert (Yvonne Voneschen) Isbister and Brian (Vicki) Isbister; sister Val Isbister; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father Myron Isbister; mother Dorothy Olson; step-father Jack Olson; mother-in-law Jean Lukowich; sisters-in-law Shelley Isbister and Rose Isbister and numerous uncles and aunts. Public Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK.
