Brian Harley passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, in his own home in Parkside with his wife and best friend Judy with him. They were married for 56 years and lived a nomadic lifestyle moving coast to coast across Canada until settling in Parkside 28 years ago. He was a man who lived life on his own terms. He was a journeyman carpenter working for various companies throughout the years, until he branched out on his own. For the years before retirement, he worked in the Parkside and Shellbrook districts. He was known for many things including his ability to make parts he could not get; this earned him the nick name, MacGyver. He was a hard worker who believed in helping others whenever he could, Brian was a helper to anybody and we mean anybody that needed help with anything around his community, he would do his best to help; whether it was in the form of advice, help or lending of one of his many tools. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and trapping, taking the time to teach anyone young or old how to hunt “properly”. He ensured his children were both self sufficient and knew how to take care of them selves, instilling many of the same values and the work ethic he lived by.
Survived by his wife Judith Harley (Carlson); His son Brad Harley (Angeline Cooley) and children Cole Harley and Alexis (Lexi) Harley; His daughter Crystal Dawn Chow (Ben Chow) and children Derion (Millie (Brown) Hughes, Tyson Hughes, and Taylor (Tate) Hughes.
Brian is predeceased by his parents LG Harley and Pearl Harley; Sisters Thelma Schedlosky, Myrna Harley; Brother Donald Harley; Brothers-in-law Don Schedlosky and Verle Carlson; Father-in-law Boris Carlson; Mother-in-law Nelda Carlson (Fisher).
Now you know the rest of the story, Paul Harvey Good-day.
