Brenda “Lynn” Dertell was born January 20, 1949 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan to Harry and Freeda Perkins.
Lynn’s love for animals began at an early age as she was raised on the family dairy farm. Lynn married David Dertell on November 12, 1966; and they began their own grain/beef/cattle and horse farm.
She resided in the Star City District her entire life. Lynn volunteered endlessly to the many organizations of this small town community, a community that she was so proud to call home.
Lynn lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on March 6, 2013 at Tisdale, Saskatchewan with her family by her side.
Lynn is survived by her husband David Dertell; her children Daylene (Les) Wallington, Denise (Dean) Flaata and Doyle (Kate) Dertell; her grandchildren Taylor, Morgan, Tye, Kody and Jessica; her mother Freeda Perkins, brothers Neil (Pat) Perkins, Ralph (Debbie) Perkins and sister Laurie (Jack) Senft; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Harry Perkins; her brother Gary Perkins and her infant son Earnest Zee Dertell.
