Bonnie Esther Kristiansen
March 28, 1964 – January 11, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear sister Bonnie Esther Kristiansen. Bonnie was born to Erling and Dagmar Kristiansen of Spruce Home on March 28, 1964. She was the youngest of 5 children. She took her schooling at Spruce Home Public School and Carlton Comprehensive Public High School. Besides helping her parents on the farm, Bonnie worked for various restaurants over the years. This included many years at the A & W, Ed’s Inn and Ricky’s. Bonnie retired due to health reasons while finishing off her career at Grainfields in 2020. Bonnie was a very hard worker and was very friendly with the staff and patrons.
Bonnie enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends over the phone each day. Her memory of who was celebrating a birthday or anniversary was really remarkable. Her family and friends gave her great joy.
Choosing to be actively involved in a 12-Step Program in Prince Albert for over 30 years gave Bonnie social outings she enjoyed. These friendships along with Bonnie’s caring personality turned casual acquaintances in to life-long friends! She was also involved with “Friends of Brain Injury”. Through that association Bonnie enjoyed attending various activities including camping trips at Arlington Beach and the Adult Acquired Brain Injury Summer Camp at the Quest at Christopher Lake.
Bonnie will be lovingly remembered by her sister Venes Nagy; brothers Mark Kristiansen, Marlin (Brenda) Kristiansen, and Brent (Trudy) Kristiansen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Bonnie is predeceased by her parents Erling and Dagmar Kristiansen; grandparents, Sedvard and Hannah Kristiansen, and Jens and Evelyn Christenson.
The family wishes to thank Bonnie’s numerous friends through the associations she was part of as well as the Friends of Brain Injury, for the many wonderful visits Bonnie enjoyed having! Thank you to Dr. Parekh and Dr. Obosi-Odogwu for their excellent care of our dear sister. Thank you to Access Transit for being Bonnie’s personal chauffers on her various outings, including touring the Christmas lights which Bonnie so loved to see.
We also wish to thank Gray’s Funeral Chapel for their compassion during this difficult time.
Public Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2023. A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023 with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating. Both services will be held at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK.
