“A Life Well Lived”
The family of Boris Koshlay marks his passing on Sunday, October 6th in the wee hours of the morning. Our heavy hearts are lightened by memories of the love and laughter he brought to our lives. Boris was a brilliant Teacher and Administrator who made tremendous contributions to the educational community in Prince Albert. He was also a loyal friend and protective father. With a twinkle in his eye, he could light up any room with an impish smile or fun-loving tease.
For almost 40 years, Boris served the youth of the Prince Albert Public School Division in many capacities – Teacher, Vice-Principal, Principal, Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, Math Specialist and even Floor Hockey Enthusiast. In addition to the time he spent at Vincent Massey, King George, and John Diefenbaker Schools, Boris played a key role in the programs for persons with disabilities at the Kinsmen Community Workshop. He also worked briefly as an Educational Consultant for the Muskoday Indian Band. We are forever grateful for the lifetime of dedication and love that Boris shared with his wife Sylvia, and the months of tender care that he so generously gave to her before she passed from cancer in 2000. Left to mourn are daughter Bonnie Nicholson (Stephen); grandsons Johnny (Jennifer Galus) and Matthew (Megan Grier); and adoring fan, Mia the dog. For the last few years, Dad’s constant companion has been his “Angel” Helen Doucette. Born in Goodeve, Saskatchewan, Boris was the only son of parents John and Anna Koshlay. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 305 – 6th Street East, Prince Albert. Reverend Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz will officiate at both services. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Creative Kids at www.creativekidssask.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Myriam Minier, Funeral Director.
