Blaine Roy Dahl passed away on October 11, 2021 at the age of 81 surrounded by his loving caregivers at Mont St Joseph Home.
Blaine was born in Prince Albert to Roy and Julia Dahl. They moved to Weldon where the family began farming.
After graduation Blaine attended the University of Saskatchewan and became a teacher. It wasn’t long before he advanced to the position of principal, working at several schools in Prince Albert. He had a love for music and had a band called the Melody Makers where his instrument of choice was the accordion. Over the years he played at numerous venues, for weddings, New Years celebrations and Remembrance Day gatherings at the Army and Navy. His band was very sought after with bookings up to a year in advance and to many locations both near and far. He was also a grain farmer then later on he decided to try his hand at hog farming. He was a great builder and planner. He was able to envision an end product and with great help from his son-in-law, Marvin, he was able to see his dreams become a reality. He will be greatly missed.
Blaine is remembered by his wife Vi Dahl; his step-daughter, Dyanne (Brad) Christensen; his step-son Richard’s wife, Elsie Corrigal; and step-daughter, Janet (Marvin) Sinclair; his grandchildren, Tim Corrigal, Tammara Gahan (Tim), Kristen Christensen (James), Michael (Lisa) Christensen, Trevor (Stephanie) Sinclair, and Nichole Sinclair; his great grandchildren, Andrea Gahan (Stephen), Cole Corrigal, Jacob Olfert, Samantha Olfert, and Christine Sinclair; his sister-in-law, Peggy Dahl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Julia Dahl; his brothers, Earl Dahl and Ken Dahl; and his step-son, Richard Corrigal.
We would like to extend our deepest admiration for the staff and caregivers at Mont St Joseph Home for the care and attention he received there. Thank you!
A graveside service will be held on July 8th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Weldon, SK.
