HESJE, Beverly Ann
1940 – 2024
Beverly Ann Hesje, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on May 22, 2024 at the age of 83 years with her children by her side.
Bev was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Hesje, her parents Bert and Mae Bolger, and her sister Fern MacPherson.
Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Bev grew up in a loving family with two sisters who were always up for travel, adventures and fun. The family spent many happy summers in Waskesiu which led to her lifelong love of this special place. Over the years she had many jobs including paddling pool supervisor, bank teller, teachers’ assistant and entrepreneur, creating puppets with a friend that were even distributed and sold through Toys R Us. Her most appreciated roles were that of mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Bev met Clayton in Prince Albert and it was here that they married in 1961 and began their life together. A move to North Battleford in 1969 led to the introduction of many more lifelong friends. A final move to Saskatoon in 1979 brought yet many more special relationships and happy times. Over the years Bev was actively involved with and enjoyed singing with The Watsonairs, curling, knitting, travelling with her friends, family and sisters, and especially golf where she got a hole in one in a tournament she was in! Bev will forever be remembered for her warmth, her sense of humour, her grace, the ability to really listen and her mischievous smile.
Left to carry on Bev’s legacy are her son, Brent (Deb) Hesje, and daughter Janice (Blaine) Fagnou, along with grandchildren Katherine (Stephan) Fortier, Jonathan (Maya) Hesje, Kayla (Jason) Janzen, Logan Fagnou, great granddaughter Isla Hesje, sister Bonnie (Terry) Smith plus numerous relatives and friends.
The family is incredibly thankful for the team at Saskatoon City Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada in Bev’s memory. The family asks that you take a moment, listen to the song ‘On Golden Pond (Main Theme)’ and think of happy memories of Bev. At her request there will be no funeral.
Arrangements entrusted to Derryl Hildebrandt-Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200. To share memories of Bev or send condolences please visit www.mourningglory.ca
