Elizabeth “Betty” Anne Watson April 15, 1953-January 25, 2021
It is with great sadness, sorrow, and hope that we announce the passing of our spouse, sister, mother, teacher, and friend to many Elizabeth Betty Anne Watson after a short hard-fought battle with cancer.
Mom spent her life living the best life she knew how. She was a caring woman who always had kind words and guidance to share.
Betty was an educational assistant with the Saskatoon public school board up until her passing. It was the job she had always yearned to have. Mom graduated from SIAST in 2003 at the age of 50 and there was no turning back for mom. She spent her years forging young minds and helping those with smaller curves than the traditional students. Mom loved her kids and that love was reciprocated when her grade 8 class made a trip to see her when she was ill. It brightened her day and she spoke highly of it until her passing. Mom always smiled when she spoke of her kids in school as they brought her immense joy.
Mom enjoyed volunteering her time when she could do so. She was involved with the Prince Albert Lioness club, and lately the Saskatoon Army and Navy Club Executive. They will surely miss mom and we all will with her contagious laugh and beautiful heartfelt smile.
Betty has left to grieve her partner of 15 years, David Taylor; sister, Eleanor (Bill, and children Chris, Tara, and Clayton and their families); brothers, Gerald, Joe,(Dustin and Miranda and their families) and Jack (daughter Holly and family); sister-in-law, Kathy (Melanie, Kevin, Donna and their families); her son Aubrey (Tara, AJ and Kai, daughter Taylor); daughter, Robyn (Rob and daughters Jaci, Jannessa, and Declyn) along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her mother, Mariah Bird; brother, Mervin Watson; and her niece, Ann Watson.
The family would like to thank everyone for the well wishes and would like everyone to know that we will have a Celebration of Life at a later date for friends and family. We will have one in Saskatoon and will have one in Prince Albert with a small family ceremony at Memorial Gardens.
Mom wanted to thank her doctor, Dr Zeradjic, and all of her palliative care team for the care they delivered in her last days.
Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322.
