Beryl Olson

Beryl was born to Len and Beth Newsome on September 29, 1944, and passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the Rose Garden Hospice, Prince Albert, SK, with her husband by her side.
Beryl’s memory will be cherished by her loving husband of 62 years, Ted; children, Margaret Olson and Brian (Dawna) Olson; grandchildren, Steven (Ellie) Mason and Andrew (Kristin) Mason; great-granddaughter, Everley; siblings, Lorne (Edna) Newsome, Pat Kaytor, and Len (Jean) Newsome; sisters-in-law, Loretta Knelsen and Liz Olson; brother-in-law, Glen Rupchan; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Len and Beth (Gillis) Newsome, sister, Shirley Kohlsmith; mother-in-law, Eva Olson; sisters-in-law, Madge Rupchan and Pat Olson; and brothers-in-law, Bryce Olson and Merv Kohlsmith.
Beryl held many clerical positions throughout her life. These included positions with the Saskatchewan Hospital in Weyburn, SK, the Office of the Village of La Ronge, the La Ronge Community College, and the Northern Lights School Division, from which she retired in 2002.
In 2003, retirees, Ted and Beryl, relocated to Prince Albert, SK. While there, they became heavily involved with the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Centre. While Ted was out curling on the ice, Beryl organized and sold 50/50 tickets for the Curling Club. In addition to this, they put many miles on foot and on their golf cart cruising around Silver Hills Golf Course. They made many good friends through these activities.
Beryl loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent many hours making unforgettable memories especially at family barbecues and gatherings. Beryl enjoyed crafting, reading, puzzles, and any outings with her favourite sidekick, Ted.
The family would like to thank the staff of Rose Garden Hospice for their compassion and thoughtfulness while she was in their care. She was very happy when she was transferred from the hospital to the hospice.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
