It is with great sadness that our family announces the death of Bertha “Bert” Lloyd (Nee Saretsky), our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend in Prince Albert on April 17, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon and her infant son Bruce; her parents Peter and Anna Saretsky; four sisters and four brothers. She is survived by: her children Judy (Dwayne) and their children Heather (Jason) Sauve and Shelly (Peter) Turner; Maureen (Joe) Scale and their children Ashli and Kyle; Darryl and his children Jason and Trevor Saretsky and Nika Henderson; Guy (Wanda) Lloyd and their children Charla (Leon), Chelise (Chris) Gamble and Chase; her great-grandchildren Reid and Claire Sauve, Eve, Marco and Milo Turner, Dylan Rody, Leila and Linayah Gamble; her two sisters Loretta Gorsalitz and Hilde Saretsky; her many nieces and nephews. Bert was born in Saskatchewan in the Burr area. She was the eighth child in a loving farm family. She had many happy childhood memories and family was important to her. Bert completed nurses training at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Humboldt and her nursing career spanned 35 years in Melfort Hospital, Melfort Veterans’ Home, Holy Family Hospital, Prince Albert, the Prince Albert Pulp Mill and SaskPen. Bert and Gordon had 56 wonderful years together. She was a woman of many talents, knitting countless sweaters and afghans and Barbie doll clothes. She sewed her own clothes and those of all her children. Her home was filled with beautiful petit point pictures. She sewed and quilted the most beautiful quilts. Bert loved gardening, cooking and baking, and enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends. Donations in Bert’s memory may be made to Mont St. Joseph Home, 777 28 Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 8C2. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22 from Sacred Heart Cathedral, Prince Albert, with Celebrant Father Matthew Nguyen. Interment will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Paula Olson, Funeral Director.
