Bernice Wiebe
May 31,1949 – September 8, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice Wiebe on September 8, 2024.
Bernice was born on May 31,1949, in Unity, Saskatchewan to Victor and Leocadia Wouters. She was the youngest of 6 children. Bernice attended school and grew up in Unity.
In the years to follow she got married to Leonard Foster and had 3 boys. Bernice was busy doing volunteer work as the boys were in hockey. They lived in Milden where she worked night shifts at the hospital, always making sure to get the boys off to school in the mornings. After the boys grew up Bernice moved to Saskatoon and worked in home care.
In 2004 Bernice re-married to Peter Wiebe and moved to Medstead, living on the farm. There Bernice worked as a Special Care Aid at the Spiritwood Health Complex, retiring a few years ago.
Bernice enjoyed reading, playing cards, bowling and spending time with her family and friends. She always had a smile on her face and was a pleasure to visit with. Bernice will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Peter, her sons from previous marriage, Glenn, Trent, Lyle (Wanda), Peter’s children; Derek (Chantelle), Trena (Greg), 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and siblings; Audrey, Hedy, Rose, David (Trudy), along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Bernice was predeceased by her parents and her brother Delmer.
A special thank-you to the doctors and nurses on the palliative care ward at Battlefords Union Hospital.
