Bernice Margaret Brooks
April 29, 1928 – October 15, 2012
It is with profound sadness we report the passing of Bernice Brooks on October 15, 2012 at Mont St Joseph’s home, she was 84. Bernice is survived by her loving husband Hiram of nearly 49 years; two children, daughter Donna Brooks (Linda Bjork) and son Paul Brooks (Barbara); sister Jean; brothers Harley and Wilbert (Marg) Morash.. She had four grandchildren: Leah Sampson of Saskatoon; and Jerod, Aiden and Paige Brooks of Edmonton. Bernice was predeceased by her parents Muriel and Stanley Morash; her sisters Cora and Joyce; her brothers Reginald, Cecil and Garnet; and son-in-law Grant Smith. Bernice was born and raised in Cole Harbour NS. She grew up on a farm with eight other siblings. After high school she attended business college working most of her life as an Administrative Assistant except for time period she raised her children. Bernice had a strong belief in a power greater than her self and had a program for living which allowed her to meet life’s challenges successfully. This most certainly carried her through the last few years of her life while she battled Parkinson’s. A special thanks to the staff at Mont St. Joseph’s home who took such good care of Bernice for the past few years. Your family and friends will miss you dearly. We were so lucky to have you in our lives. Be at peace with God. A Private Service will be held. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the the Mont St. Joseph Foundation, 777 – 28th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 8C2. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
