Bernadette Favreau

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Bernadette Favreau (Brière). Bernadette was born October 3, 1928, in Ponteix, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, at the age of 95 in Edmonton, Alberta.
In 1952, Bernadette moved to Zenon Park, Saskatchewan to work at the hospital in the nursing department. There she met the love of her life, Bernard Favreau. They were married July 7,1953 and went on to build a wonderful life, raising a family and establishing their beekeeping farm together.
Bernadette loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, cross country skiing, playing cards, going on walks, sewing and crocheting. She was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League, volunteered at the hospital and nursing homes in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Bernadette is predeceased by her husband Bernard (2015). She is survived by her 6 children. Charles (Glenda) Favreau, Ronald (Janine) Favreau, Lucille (Rick) Shannon, JoAnne Budjak, Aline Favreau, Vivianne (David) Sparrow. She is “Mémère” and “Grandma” to 11 grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Bernadette is also survived by her sisters Agnes and Lilianne, brother Laurence, and sister in-law Sr Roseanne.
Bernadette was a strong, hardworking and compassionate woman. Her sense of style and presence left a lasting mark on everyone she met, especially those she held close to her heart. She will be greatly missed by many and always remembered as a wonderful lady.
The family would like to thank the staff of Devonshire Care Centre for the care, compassion and support they provided Bernadette over the past 6 years and in the last few days of her life.
Service for Bernadette will be held at Providence Centre Catholic Chapel, 3005-119 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta, on May 18, 2024, at 2 pm. Reception immediately following the service will be held at the Derrick Golf & Winter Club, 3500-119 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta.
