He loved many activities such as: gardening, golfing, curling, bowling, coaching and playing cards at the senior centre. A part of Benoit never left the farm as he thoroughly enjoyed helping his son-in-law during harvest until his 81st year when he was no longer able to climb up the combine ladder. Benoit was very active in the community; he was involved in the St. Louis Housing Authority, Recreation Board, Knights of Columbus, the Credit Union Board, served as Church trustee, involved with the principal group and member of the Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan- Wakaw Chapter.
He was sacristan for the St. Louis parish for 12 years and member of the St. Joseph Seniors Club. Benoit was a man of strong moral values, who never spoke ill of anyone. He was a fine example to family and friends and cherished every moment he shared with them. His delight was listening to his beloved wife play the piano and sing.
