Benoit “Ben” Francois Joseph Pelletier
May 19, 1944 – October 5, 2020
Ben was born on May 19, 1944 on the homestead near Bellevue, SK, to Silas and Loretta Pelletier. His family moved to Prince Albert, when he was a toddler and he resided there until his passing. Ben began his work life as a truck driver then spent several years as a heavy equipment operator on road construction, and later, became a mechanic, his chosen field of work until he was forced into early retirement due to ill health. He married Jean (nee Wall) on February 10, 1968 and they spent the next 50 plus years together as a team. He often said he married a farm girl from White Fox. Ben is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean; his daughter, Karla (Gilbert); the “helpers” his grandsons, Connor and James; his son, Bradley; and his sister, Lorraine. He was predeceased by his parents, Silas and Loretta; his sisters, Alma and Annette; and his brothers, Ernest, Felix and Paul. Ben passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. In keeping with Ben’s wishes a private graveside service will be held. In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Ben may be made to Rose Garden Hospice, Box 2092, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 1E0, or online at www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/26521.
