Benjamin Ballantyne was born on January 10, 1935 in Robertsons Island, SK and passed away on March 6, 2017 in Flin Flon, MB, at the age of 82 years. Benjamin is survived by his loving family, his sons, Larry (Ida), Wayne, Armand (Bev), Jack (Mavis), Gilbert (Yolanda) And Simeon G. B., his daughter, Bonnie Swan (James), his sisters, Joyce B. (Earl), Margaret Ballantyne and Caroline Beattie, his brothers, Cornelius B. and Allan Ballantyne (Bernadette), his aunties, Sarah and Florence, his sisters-in-law, Jeannie B., Katie B., Lydia, Sarah, Nora, Mary and Angelique, and his brothers-in-law, George S. (Ida), Angus S. (Connie) and Gilbert S. (Claudia), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Ballantyne (nee Sewap), his children, Victoria, Cora, Benjamin Roberts and Randy Roberts, his siblings, Rachel Custer, Ralph Beatty, Henry Ballantyne, Telsa Custer, Jean Dorion, Henry Eninew and Douglas Ballantyne, his sisters-in-law, Sophie Merasty, Flora Ballantyne and Alice Ballantyne, his brothers-in-law, Henry Dorion, Peter Sewap, Mathias Sewap and Roderick Custer, his parents, Simeon and Elizabeth Ballantyne, his paternal grandparents, Tachel and Peter Ballantyne, his maternal grandparents, George Cadotte and Jean Ballantyne, and his in-laws, Philip and Laura Sewap, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A prayer service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at River Park Funeral Home. A wake service will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Benjamin Ballantyne’s residence, then continued on Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. Peter’s Church in Deschambault Lake, SK. Benjamin’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. Peter’s Church in Deschambault Lake, SK. Interment to follow at Robertsons Island Cemetery in Deschambault Lake, SK.
