BenHart “Benny” Kambeitz
1938 – 2014

Ben passed away at the Victoria Hospital on Saturday, March 8, 2014. He was born on October 26, 1938 in St. Brieux, SK. Ben lived in the family home until October 18, 1949. He then moved to Sask Training School in Weyburn and remained there until June 1955. Ben moved to Sask Training School in Moose Jaw from June 1955 – July 4, 1961. Sask Training School from July 4, 1961 – October 16, 1974. Valley View Centre October 16, 1974 – December 5, 1988. Ben moved to an approved service home from December 5, 1988 – January 26, 1994. January 26, 1994 – December 5, 1995 he moved to Citizins All Home, Moose Jaw, December 5, 1995 – November 1, 1996 Valley View Centre. Ben then moved to Serenity House with the Prince Albert group home society from November 1, 1996 until his passing on March 8th, 2014. His vocational opportunities while in Moose Jaw was with Diversiful Services. In Prince Albert Kin Enterprises at their light assembly program and just last year a transfer to their new “Sage Program”. Benny is survived by his mother Katherine Kambeitz; his brothers Aimee (Martha) Kambeitz; Tony Kambeitz and Mike Kambeitz; his sisters Irene Cook and Marlene Koverski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Kambeitz and his sister Barb Roettger in 2001. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Craig Hollands officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 390 Bay St. Suite 710, PO Box 19341 Stn BRM B, Toronto, ON M7Y 3M1 or to the Serenity Care Home, 123 – 31st Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 8A8.
