Barry Sherman

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Dad and Papa, Barry Dwayne Sherman who passed away suddenly of a heart attack at Little Loon Lake, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the age of 62 years old.

Left to cherish his memory are: The Love of his life of 38 years, his Sweetheart, Sylvia Sherman (nee: Orosz) of Lloydminster, AB

His loving Children: Mellissa (Kyle) Rowland and their daughter, Emellia; Megan (Colson) Brown and their children Eli, Max, Ivy and Ada; Monte (Mandy) Sherman, all of Lloydminster, AB.

His father, Gordon Sherman of North Battleford, SK; his sister, Rhonda (Steven) Prescesky, his mother-in-law, Therese Orosz of Spiritwood, SK, his brother-in-law, Joey Orosz (Mary Lou Haugen); his sister-in-laws, Joanne (Doug) Weisbrod and Veronica (Murray) MacDonald; his special Aunt Wanda Oliver, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

All of those who he considered his family: co-workers and fellow welders throughout the years; our Holiday Traveling Group; his ski-doo and fishing buddies; his Combine Crews (The Detillieuxs from Glaslyn, SK and The MacDonalds from Rabbit Lake, SK); his breakfast/coffee buddies; his Oliver Tractor buddies, Knights of Columbus Brothers and so many other friends.

Barry was predeceased by: his mother, Norma Sherman (2020); his father-in-law, Joseph Orosz (2015); his grandparents: Rudolph (1994) and Muriel (2000) Sherman, Jim (2004) and Mary (2010) Oliver; Uncle Everett (1992) and Aunty Jean (2024) Sherman; and Uncle Ron (2015) Oliver.

The funeral service will be conducted at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church (2704-56 Avenue, Lloydminster, Alberta) on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Donations in memory of Barry can be made to the Knights of Columbus Father Dobson Council 3553 (2704-56 Avenue, Lloydminster, Alberta, T9V 2C1) or to the Neilburg Museum.
