AUDREY LINDA MALMGREN
After losing a long battle with cancer, it is with great sadness we lay to rest our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and loyal friend, Audrey Linda Malmgren. She passed away Sept.3/13. She was predeceased by her mother, Bernadette Smith; father, Theodore Schwan; brother, Gordon Schwan; and parents-in-law, Nannie and Helmer Wiberg. Left to grieve is her husband, Roger Malmgren; daughter, Tracey (Miles) Bentley their children Elena (Mike) Bentley, Shelby Bentley, and Kelsey Bentley; son, Thomas his daughter Alyssa; sister, Phyllis (Peter) Fiddler; brother, Gary (Chris) Schwan; sister, Diane (Danny) Goodwin; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was born on April 2, 1948 in Prince Albert, Sask. at Holy Family. Audrey was an avid sports fan and it was at a broomball game where she met and eventually married, Roger Malmgren, on May 19, 1973. They settled in Clavet, SK. in 1979, where after 34 yrs. the couple moved into Saskatoon, in 2013. Audrey and Roger enjoyed travelling, especially to Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. One of her many passions was fastball and “her boys”. She spent many an evening at the ballpark cheering from the stands. Audrey had a wonderful zest for decorating, planning and hosting. Christmas being her favorite time of year, it was never “happy Holidays” it was always “Merry Christmas”. Family gatherings were one of her happiest moments. She was always proud of her children and grandchildren. Audrey firmly believed in treating people the way she wanted to be treated. She said what she meant and meant what she said. Audrey was one of the strongest women that any of us have had the honour of knowing and loving. She will be deeply missed by all. A Celebration of Audrey's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10th at Elim Church (419 Slimmond Road).
