Ashley Nicole (Ziegler) “Tray”
Ashley was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on August 30, 1989. She passed peacefully in Saskatoon with love by her side July 23, 2020 at the young age of 30. She had a 9 year old son, Hunter whom she loved and adored and 11 1/2 month old baby girl, Ava was Ashley’s mini me and who Ashley loved dearly. Her two prides and joys.
Ashley’s love of her animals was well known, she always had a soft spot for dogs and especially cats. She loved Metallica and thought they are the “best band of all time”. She enjoyed camping with her dad in B.C. and spending time with her kids, playing, swimming, just being with them anyway or anyhow she could. She worked as an administrative assistant and labourer for a roofing company in North Battleford where she resided up until the time of her passing.
Ashley is survived by her Mom, Dawn (Jim) Elliot; her dad Terry Gliege; her son, Hunter Gliege (Elliot) and her daughter Ava Elrose; her sister Kyla Hudon; her stepsisters, Amanda, Sarah, and Krystal; her grandmother, Alice Spotswood (Gliege) and her boyfriend, Brian Dugan. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Emil Gliege, her maternal grandparents Doris Ziegler, and Fred Ziegler. Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Ashley will be laid to rest with a graveside service July 30, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Big River cemetery. Lunch to follow at Ashley’s Auntie Carol & Uncle George Hildebrand’s house.
Donations in memory of Tray can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation.
If Only
If only we had known
your calls for help, left
unanswered, ignored, silenced, would be your last call.
If only we had known not to erase your last voice message,
not knowing that was to be our last time we heard your voice.
If only we had known to pick up,
heard what you had to say.
If only we had known our time was up to tell you that we did love you, that we cared.
All you needed and all you wanted to hear was to know
someone cared, that somebody cared, someone still loved you, somebody, anyone, that we forgave you….
Too little too late.
For us, the ones you left behind will live with this.
If only we knew what you were going through, gave you the chance, the chance you tried and we denied.
Our Daughter, our stepdaughter, our Mother, our sister, our stepsister, our Granddaughter, our niece, our cousin, our lover, our friend. Our Ashley, our Tray.
Without you we will go on,
and keep your memories dear.
Until we meet again, you will be our angel by our side.
If only it wasn’t too late….
Rest In Peace beautiful one.
