1930 – 2013

Dad was born on the family farm near St. Brieux, SK on December 24, 1930 and he passed away peacefully in Melfort on July 20, 2013.
He attended Lacombe School until grade three when he was forced to quit due to lack of transportation to and from school. He worked hard as a youngster on local farms and ranches tending the cattle and butchering. From 1939 to 1944, he lived with his oldest sister Jeanne and her husband Yves helping wherever he was needed on the farm. At age 15 he went to live with Joe Carfantan and worked as a farm labourer, and in the fall and winter he worked for Mr. Lavoie butchering and cutting wood.
Over the next several years, Dad worked for various farmers in the St. Brieux area. He was well known for playing his mouth organ and accordion and he also loved to dance. It was one of those dances that he met the love of his life, Thelma Mundy. They married on November 9, 1955, and together they had seven children. After their marriage they moved to Alberta for a short time and then returned to Saskatchewan and settled in Imperial where he worked for Roger Hill on a local farm. In the winter of 1959 they moved to St. Brieux, and then in 1960 to Brooksby to work on the farm of Jack Deck. In 1963 Dad went to work for the town of Star City where he stayed for 21 years. In 1984 he moved to his last job with the city of Melfort until his retirement in December 1994.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always known to be the ultimate gentleman. He and mom spent many summers camping with their children and grandchildren, and spent his life making sure his family was loved and well taken care of.
Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years Thelma (nee Mundy); his children Loretta (Daryl) Booker, Cliff (Susan), Sharon (Dale) Muntain, Carol Aubin, Lorraine (Kent) Gress and Les (Joanne); his grandchildren Ryan Booker, Laura (Samson) Howlett, Adam Booker, Dana (James) Bouskill, Brette Aubin, Cohl (Erin) Muntain, Renee (Steve) Merasty, Brandon Gress, and Austin Gress; three great grandchildren Nixson and Carter Howlett, and Ellee Bouskill.
He was predeceased by his son Harold in December, 2002, his parents Noah & Eva Aubin; and in-laws Russell and Grace Mundy.
