It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Claude Goodwin Jr. on April 3, 2014 at the Melfort Hospital at the age of 80 years. He passed away peacefully with family at his side.
Art was born to Arthur Goodwin Sr. and Marie Gabrielle Goodwin (nee Jestin) at Pleasantdale on August 17, 1933. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Lac Vert, St. Louis Catholic Convent, and then completed his education in British Columbia.
In 1960, he married the love of his life Jean Margaret Cronk and together they took over the Goodwin family farm in the Naicam area. While residing there, the first two of their three children were born, Lorraine and Darlene. In 1966, they purchased a farm in the Lac Vert area. Their third child Darren was born there. Art and Jean farmed together for forty years, retiring to Melfort in 2000 where they enjoyed travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Over the years, Art made many friends with his friendly smile and contagious laughter.
Art will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jean, daughter Lorraine (Jim) Miller, daughter Darlene (Brent) Sutton and their children Richelle and John Sutton, son Darren (Lori) and their children Shyla and Kyle Goodwin. Art will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
