Arnold George Hoffman
September 23, 1945 – October 1, 2025
Arnold (Arnie) George Hoffman, of Leask, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at Shellbrook Hospital on October 1, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., just days after celebrating his 80th birthday.
Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on September 23, 1945, Arnie was the eldest child of George and Hulda Hoffman. He grew up in a faithful German farming family near Leask, starting at Skipton School, but quickly switched to Leask School where he graduated. From an early age, he developed a lifelong love of sports, especially fastball, and was always an avid hunter and fisherman. Arnie also had a passion for collecting curious and valuable old artifacts, which he cherished as part of Prairie heritage.
Arnie farmed his entire life, carrying on the tradition of his family. He loved the outdoors, whether working the land, hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying God’s creation. He grew up in the Lutheran community and often served on the Church Pastoral Council. His strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident throughout his life. Known for his kind, warm, and funny nature, Arnie loved people—and people loved him. He delighted in making others laugh and always appreciated a good joke.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bernadette; his children, Angèle (Andre), Hal (Paula), and Ryan; his grandchildren, Mylène, Joel, Caleb, Natalie, Zachariah, Janna, and Isaiah; and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Lloyd, and his sister, Lori (Jeff). Arnie is predeceased by his parents, George and Hulda Hoffman.
Arnie’s life was marked by love for his family, his deep faith, his joy in farming and the outdoors, and the many friendships he nurtured. He will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Service will take place for Arnold on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. from the St. Henry’s RC Church in Leask. Internment will follow in the Leask Cemetery, and a time of refreshments and fellowship will take place following the interment at the Leask Community Hall.
