Arnold was born on October 3rd, 1926 in Los Angeles, California, he came to Canada with his parents and two brothers in 1933. He attended school at Christopher Lake, Saskatoon and Prince Albert (PACI). He worked in a logging camp in Vancouver after high school. He later returned to the United States where he joined the U.S. Merchant Marines. Arnold had many business ventures throughout his colorful life. He owned a bar in Pismo Beach, California and a charter bus company. Arnold and his family returned to Canada in 1977 where he remained for the next 36 years. He worked for Northern Plumbing and Heating and later owned and operated Arctic Plumbing. He then began a fish business, Fish City Inc., in Prince Albert which he operated for the remaining 18 years of his life. Arnold is survived by his wife of 44 years, Amelia; two sons Arnold Jr. of Paramount, California and Rick of Vancouver, B.C.; two daughters Cassandra Ray of Fort Fairfield, Maine and Melissa Moore of San Jose, California. He is also survived by his two brothers, George (Georgina) of Coos Bay, Oregon and Gerald (Gail) of Tucson, Arizona; one brother-in-law Edward (Mary) Hoda of Edmonton, AB; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents George Washington and Effie Gertrude Moore; one son Dwayne; one daughter Judy and his loving sister Sharon. Arnold loved fishing and cooking, but what he will be remembered for most was his great sense of Irish humour. He truly loved life and his friends and family. His smile and laughter will live in our hearts forever and he will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Arnold’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating.
