Anton LaVallie
1968 ~ 2026
With tremendous sadness we wish to inform you that Anton Trevor LaVallie, passed away on March 14, 2026. Anton passed peacefully in his sleep, at the lake, from a cardiac event.
He was predeceased by his father, Harvey LaVallie (1995); best friend, Dan Mowat (2019); and other family members. He leaves behind his mother, Lucille LaVallie; spouse, Carrie LaVallie; daughter, Chelsea McElligott-LaVallie (Daniel); son, Matthew LaVallie (Ireland Farquhar); brother, Philip LaVallie; sister, Celena Moody (Daryn); nephew, Rylee Moody; niece, Kierra Moody; and nephew, Ayden Moody.
Anton was born in Saskatoon on June 25, 1968. He enjoyed many years helping his father Harvey work around the house and in the garage. He married his best friend Carrie LaVallie on October 31, 1992, in Saskatoon, and they had two fantastic children, Chelsea and Matthew. His children were his pride and joy, and he was equally excited when they met their significant others, Dan and Ireland, respectively.
Anton worked for Hub City Display for a few years, then a caretaker for the Catholic School Board. In 1999, he moved to Prince Albert to begin his career as a firefighter for the Prince Albert Fire Department. In 2019, Anton was awarded the Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal from the Governor General of Canada. He proudly retired from the department as a Battalion Chief in 2024.
Over the years, Anton made many friends along the way. Some he has had since high school. He dearly loved his friends and the fire department family he acquired. He was close to his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Anton was always willing to help in anyway he could.
His love for tinkering, figuring things out, and saving money made his hobbies not feel like work but a passion. Fishing, restoring old cars, fixing things, being at the lake, and entertaining friends was his biggest joys. He always had a welcoming smile and would talk your ear off if given the chance.
There are no words to express how devastated the family is with his passing. They are immensely grateful for the support they have been given in helping them through this process. They know that they are not grieving the loss alone and that he has touched the hearts of so many.
The family wishes to thank those that have reached out and shared their grief, their stories, and their support during this time. They also wish to thank Brad and Glenda Louis for being there for Anton’s transition from the lake to Prince Albert, and for the others who created a wall of support for the family. Anton would want people not to grieve but to laugh and enjoy each other over a glass of the “good stuff.” We know that Anton was greeted in heaven by his father Harvey, and will now be fishing freely with his friend Dan.
The Funeral Service for Anton will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be sent to the Prince Albert Fire Fighters Charity, Saskatchewan Burn Unit, or the Saskatchewan Hemophilia Society.
