Annie Phoenix
(November 17, 1919 – October 19, 2011)
Annie Lena Eunice Phoenix (Clark) was born on November 17, 1919 on a farm in the Pleasantdale area to Robert and Ellen Clark. She was educated in the Lucan and Kew Garden Schools.
In 1937, she married Alvin Phoenix and started their life together on his homestead in the Kew Garden School District east of Lac Vert. November 17 became a date they would always remember as it was both their birthdays and their wedding anniversary. To this union three children were born: Alvie, Vernal and Myra.
Annie enjoyed fishing, dancing, music, curling, traveling, gardening, and farming. Animals were her great love, especially dogs and cats. No matter how ill she became she always asked about her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
In 1996 they retired and moved off the farm to Naicam where she lived until June 2011 when poor health forced her to move.
Annie was predeceased by her husband Alvin; daughter Alvie; son-in-law Don; grandson Doug; an infant grandson; her parents; a brother and two sisters; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Annie is survived by son Vernal (Rita); daughter Myra (Dwight); grandchildren Janet (Shawn) and Aaron; great grandchildren Parker, Hannah and Karlee; granddaughter-in-law Crystal; special nephew Russell (Marlene) and family; sister-in-law Elna and many nieces and nephews.
