Annie Hunt (nee Van Den Ham)
1922 – 2013
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Annie Hunt of Weldon on February 19, 2013. Annie was born in Prince Albert on September 21, 1922 to parents Albert and Jessie Van Den Ham. She moved to the farm north of Weldon with her parents and sister Elsie when she was 2 years old. Together they attended Fanford and Queen Maud schools and were an inseparable pair, doing everything on the farm together. In 1945 she met the love of her life Floyd Hunt. They were married on May 19, 1951 and had two daughters Iris and Sharon. They farmed together north of Weldon for 45 years until 1996 when they retired to Birch Hills. The past year Annie was blessed to live at the Weldon Country Villa where she was wonderfully cared for, and made precious new friendships and rekindled old ones. Annie was a hard-working lady who lived and breathed the farm life. She was known for her caring and compassionate ways. She loved animals, gardening, sewing and cooking, and everyone was always welcome at her door. It was a labour of love. Floyd and she worked side by side building a house of love, a beautiful life full of hopes, dreams and reality for themselves and their daughters. Annie is lovingly cherished and remembered by her 2 daughters Iris (Terry) Hegland and Sharon (Stan) Csuti; her 5 grandchildren Jeff (Hansi) Hegland, Melissa (Carter) MacLeod, Alysha, Jarryd and Talisa Csuti; her 5 great-grandchildren Hunter, Hannah and Jaida Hegland, and Presley and Taya MacLeod; her 2 sisters-in-law Evelyn Fjeld and Eileen Hunt; her 3 brothers-in-law Albert Silde, Stanley (Linda) Hunt and Les (Joyce) Hunt; and many nieces and nephews. Annie was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Floyd; her parents Albert and Jessie Van Den Ham; her father and mother-in-law Charlie and Ovidia Hunt; her sister Elsie Silde; her sisters-in-law Elva Sundbo, Mirrel Sundbo and Ilah Welch; her brothers-in-law Oscar Sundbo, Reider Sundbo, Fred Welch, Andrew Fjeld and Vern Hunt. A Celebration of Annie’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Lake Park Baptist Church, Birch Hills, SK with Pastor Matthew Teigrob officiating. Interment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
