Annette passed away peacefully on January 8, 2013 in the Cold Lake Alberta Hospital. Born March 24, 1918 in Carnduff, SK, Annette was the third eldest of nine children of Jim and Susan Button. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Earl Martin of 62 years; four brothers, Clarence, Wilbur, Jimmie and Roy; two sisters, Florence and Ruby and son-in-law, Joe Lomas. She is survived by three daughters, Marian Lomas, Audrey Maheux (Rene) and Sharon Martin; brother, Len Button (Gwen) and sister, Eileen Brown. She will be sadly missed by 5 grandchildren, Todd Maheux (Roxanne), Kerri Tluchak (Murray), Lianne Maheux, Sandra Priestley (Cam) and Grant Archibald (Cheryl); also 10 great grandchildren, Landon, Jordan, Kenton and Lauren Maheux; Cole and Shea Priestley; Karli and Brooke Tluchak and Cody and Dane Archibald. Annette is also lovingly remembered by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. She moved with her family from Carnduff to Prince Albert, SK in 1933 to the Clouston area. At sixteen years of age, she went to work in Prince Albert. After marrying Earl in 1938, they worked and lived on the Martin family farm. They started dairying in 1942 and continued until 1970 at which time they semi-retired and continued with other farming interests until 2001. The “farm” was a favourite gathering place for family, friends and neighbours cherishing Annette’s wonderful hospitality, great cooking and friendly personality. Annette moved to Cold Lake AB in 2009 to be close to family. She was a woman of strength and character and was known and loved by many for her kindness, positive attitude and cheerful disposition. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Reception will follow Memorial Service. Private Interment will be held. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Cold Lake Healthcare Centre, 314 – 25th Street, Cold Lake AB T9M 1G6 or Hospital Foundation of your choice.
