Anne Lehner
1936 – 2013
Anne passed away at the Victoria Hospital on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was born on April 24, 1936. Anne is survived by her daughter Debbie (Kurt) Ashby & grandchildren Marc & Trina, Jordan & Kala & great granddaughter Ella & great grandson Caprice; her daughter Lori Ann Lehner (Scott Harkness) & granddaughters Jesse & Tyra and her siblings Priscilla, Jackie and Tommy. She was predeceased by her husband Bisko; her parents Ben Isbister & Clara (nee Settee); her siblings Bill, Marie & Elsie. Anne was a hard worker no matter where she worked or what she did. Throughout her life she worked at: Wings Café, Club Café, Saan Store, Dairy Pool, Purity Dairy, Modern Market, DTRR, DNS, Northern Forest Operations and in her retirement McDonald Restaurant. Anne belonged to the Army and Navy and the Legion. She was on many committees and she loved the friends that she made there. Anne also volunteered at Wesmor School. She was happiest cooking and baking for the students and even the staff. She would cook for King George School. She loved making soup and bannock for the kids. This year she was thrilled to make all the gingerbread men for the Grade 1’s and the grades 3 & 4 to decorate. She made over 300 of them!!! She kept Jesse’s bible study group supplied with baking for every season. Anne also enjoyed cooking for the people in her building. She made sure the ones that couldn’t cook were fed. She supplied many meals for the holidays and events for anyone and everyone just so they wouldn’t be alone for the holiday. Many, many people would order cabbage rolls, perogies and baking from her. She turned into a cabbage roll making machine. But if you wanted to make her mad, just be late picking up your order…. Not a good thing to do. Anne was a person that was very worried about those less fortunate. She bought mittens, scarves, jackets and clothes for kids that Debbie worked with. She always asked if the kids at school needed boots or warm jackets. She loved decorating around Molstad home for Christmas, and in the spring when she planted many, many flowers. She was happiest doing something for others. My sister Lori and I would like to thank all of you that have brought joy and happiness to our mom. It is important for us that you understand our mom. At times she could appear to be a bit harsh or grumpy, but please know that our mom had more that her share of hurt, sadness and hardship in her life. That is why it was so important to her to make sure that others were taken care of. She worried about those in need. She didn’t have much but what she had she would gladly share sometimes being without herself. She really was a loving, generous woman. Thank you for being our mom’s friend. Funeral Service will be held at11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Wes Stubbs officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
