Anne was born to William and Mary Somack on the family farm in the Mountain Road, MB area on September 13,1922. She was the third born to a family of four brothers and one sister.
Anne grew up on the family farm and attended school at the Providence country school. As a young woman, she worked at Clear Lake, MB and then later Winnipeg, MB. This is where she met John Fraynak and in 1951 they were married.
To this union, in 1952 their son Walter was born. In 1954 they left Manitoba and settled in the Gronlid district where they farmed for the next 46 years. In 1958, their daughter Joanne was born.
Anne enjoyed gardening, cooking and took great pride in ensuring all of her farm animals were very well taken care of. Anne’s coffee pot was always on and no one ever left her house hungry, she enjoyed company and faithfully attended church.
Mom was known to be a great story teller, her children and grandchildren fell asleep many a night to these wonderful stories. Mom would also spend countless hours singing to us, You Are My Sunshine and My Darling’ Clementine, these songs will live in our memories and hearts forever. Mom’s family was precious to her and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Following dad’s passing in February 2000, mom left the farm and moved into Diefenbaker place in Melfort, SK. She greatly enjoyed the 12 years she spent there and made many new friends. In 2012, mom suffered a stroke and relocated to Parkland Place where she resided up till her passing.
On March 23, 2014 mom peacefully left us to enjoy eternity in the presence of our lord. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her kind, gentle ways.
Anne was predeceased by her husband John, her parents, brothers; Mike, John and Paul, sister Jean, niece Linda, and nephew Brian.
