Anne was born on March 5, 1926 in Melfort, the oldest child of Robert and Betty Barrie. She attended Thatch Creek School. Anne worked at the Royal Bank for many years before marrying Cody Preete – after a lengthy courtship. Cody and Anne lived on a farm ten miles south of Melfort. Anne took pride in growing a huge garden, and tending flower gardens all around the yard. She enjoyed bowling weekly, and watching Cody-and later Sherry and Tracy play ball. She cheered at many hockey games at the Willowdale outdoor rink, and later in Melfort-where Cody and Anne held Mustang season tickets for many years. Anne passed away on June 27, 2012 at the Arborfield Special Care Lodge at the age of 86 years.
Anne is survived by her daughter Sherry Gerwing (Allan), and their children Dean, Leanne, Lane, and Devin, and her son Tracy (Robyn) and their children Austen and Mikayla.
