Ann Pagee nee Hudak nee Ibbotson
It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of Ann Pagee on February 15, 2025 at the age of 83. Mom was born on November 26, 1941 in Littleborugh, England. Childhood was challenging for Mom. At the age of 5 she developed lung issues and was placed into a sanatorium for children for 2 years only allowing parents to visit once every 3 months. As a child she lived through the war years often recounting stories of being put in bomb shelters or her concrete house pantry for safety. Through these times Mom grew up to be a very strong and independent woman. Mom met her first husband Steve Hudak in England and they later settled in Prince Albert. Mom mostly worked as a secretary but also worked as a counsellor and in addictions. She loved animals and also competed in dog shows with the kennel club. Mom enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved to swim. She loved the smell of the Atlantic Ocean. She loved flowers. Mom later married Don Pagee. They spent many years travelling and living in different communities due to Don’s choice of work. Mom was the most kind hearted, gentle and giving person. Always seeing the good in people. Family and friends were the most important things in her life. Warm hugs and a kiss with every visit I will cherish forever. Mom is survived by her loving family: Daughter Janice Jackson (Rob), grandchildren Kaylee Pederson (Ryan), great granddaughter Madelynn Pederson, grandson Josh Jackson . Son David Hudak(Rhonda), grandchildren Nicholas Hudak, spouse and 2 great grandchildren, granddaughter Brittany Hudak. Predeceased by her child Caroline Hudak and Stevie Hudak. Her dad Jim Ibbotson and mom Joyce Ibbotson. Her husbands Steve Hudak and Don Pagee. Thank you to Dr. Painter for your care of Mom and Don over the years. Thank you to the Herb Bassett Adult Day Program. In mom’s last few years, you truly brought friendship, joy and meaning to her life. Thank you to Nelson Care Home. To Diane Nichols, lifelong friend from England for almost 70 years. Mom considered you her “kindred spirit”. To friends Hilary, Keith, Denis, Peter and Lizbeth in England and Belgium, mom always looked forward to your letters and lifelong friendship. I love and miss you so much Mom. But as I look in the mirror I have to laugh and smile as we look so much alike it’s like seeing you every day. Till we meet again, keep the teapot warm for me! Love from your daughter, Janice. No funeral service per mom’s request.
Grandma you were such a pilar in my life you were always there for me no matter what was going on from good days to bad days it didn’t matter you were there to lend your advice or just someone to listen. I think that speaks volumes to the person you were. A loving, caring, endlessly selfless soul who would stop at nothing to make sure your family came first. I’ll always remember and cherish the memories of you and grandpa. I’ll always cherish the stories you would tell about your life from farming and adventures with grandpa to your life in England. There are so many things about you that I will so dearly miss. I truly wish I would have spent more time with you in the last few years. As much as it hurts to see you go deep down, I know you will always be with me in my heart. I am glad you are no longer suffering and that you will never have to fear anything anymore. I know you and grandpa are finally back together I’m sure enjoying some tea and catching up on the last few years.
As much as it hurts to not have you physically here right now, I’m grateful for the years of laughs and love! I’m glad to know I have such a wonderful angel looking down on me!
I love you grandma!
