Aniela Gorczynski was born in Novosivka Nad Zbruchem, Ukraine on October 9, 1921 to parents Paul and Roselia Pawluk. She passed away peacefully on October 24, 2014 at Parkland Place, Melfort Saskatchewan at the age of 93 years.
Aniela married Wladislaw (Walter) Gorczynski in 1943, just prior to Walter leaving for service in WW2. They were displaced from their home in Ukraine to Pashovitse, Poland in 1945. They immigrated to Canada in 1960 to Melfort, Saskatchewan to join her husband’s brother, the late Joseph Gorchynski and his family. They established a successful life in the Melfort area.
Aniela was predeceased by her husband Walter in 2006 and having no children of their own, left to remember her are many nieces, nephews and their families both in Canada and Poland.
A Funeral Mass for Aniela will be held from Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church, Melfort, SK on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Manh Nguyen officiating. The interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice.
