December 24, 1932 – December 31, 2016
It is with profound sadness that the Szabo family announces the passing of Andy Nandor John Szabo, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He passed away peacefully Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Mont St. Joseph Care Home and was predeceased by his loving wife Annette. Andy was born December 24, 1932 in the Yellow Creek/Meskanaw area. He lives on in the memories of: his children Andrea (Maurice) Guillet, Janice (Trent) Kezar, Keith (Cindy) Szabo, Dale (Stacey) Szabo; grandchildren Michael Guillet, Everett (Alyssa) Kezar, Kristen Kezar, Jarrett Kezar, Kelsey Szabo, Matthew Szabo, Alex Szabo; and great-granddaughter Erica Elizabeth Guillet; as well as his brothers, sisters and good friends. He was a long-time parishioner of Sacred Heart Cathedral and, as an usher, made many friends over the years. He was proud of his near 30 years employment at Prince Albert Pulpwood/Weyerhaeuser and was never without a company hat, ring or watch. In retirement he enjoyed quiet time with Annette and walking his dogs Nibs, Sam and Sarah. In his later years he moved to Mont St. Joseph, gaining many new friends among residents and staff – considering many of the staff at MSJ as his extended family. A Prayer Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Interment at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens (refreshments to follow at Gray’s Funeral Chapel). A private viewing for relatives and close friends will be held one hour prior to the Prayer Service. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the SPCA, Box 1832, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J90Z9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
