Andrew Lewis “Askiy~Wihowin”

Andrew Lewis passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in Shellbrook, SK at the age of 71. He was born September 20, 1947 to John and Elmire (nee: McAdam) Lewis. Andrew spent many years as a carpenter.

Andrew is lovingly remembered by: his loving wife, Bernice Lewis(nee: Gordon); his children, Buddy Gordon of Gordon First Nation and his children, Levi and Buddy Jr. Gordon; Martin Lewis of Big River First Nation and his children, Tonia (Jesse) Gordon, Evan Gordon, Jade (Dallas) Gordon, Janice, Cilycia, Trisha and Andreea Lewis; Dwayne (Caroline) Swiftwolfe of Saskatoon and their children, Dovey, Dakota, Avery, Rosie, and Dwayne Jr. (DJ); Cindy Hunter of Saddle Lake, Alberta and her children, Henry, Brett and Alicia; Kiley Durocher (Darcy) of Saskatoon and their children, Breanna, Britani, Jocelyn, Rhayne and Kody; his brothers and sisters, Brian (Charlotte) Lewis, Sam McAdam, Patsy McAdam and Marie Thomas; his sisters-in-law, Patricia, Shirley, Bonnie and Cheryl Gordon as well as 9 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

He is predeceased by: his parents, Elmire and John Lewis; his daughter, Andrea Lewis; his sisters, Mary Rose Thomas, Margaret Moccasin and Mary T. Rabbitskin and his brothers, Paul and Frank Lewis.

Wake Service commenced on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. The Funeral Service was held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019. Both services were held at the Big River First Nation Band Hall with the elders officiating. Interment followed in the Big River First Nation Cemetery by the river. Pallbearers were: Evan Gordon, Utin Joseph, Gordon McAdam, Leonard Thomas, Gary Jr. Lewis and Jesse Hunter. Honorary pallbearers were all of Andrew’s family and friends who knew and loved him.
