ANDREW “ANDY” JOHN PETE
We, the family of Andrew “Andy” Pete with deepest hearts announce his sudden passing on Sunday, April 15, 2013 at the age of 57. Andy was a loving father and grandfather. He was known for his sense of humor and his infectious and positive attitude which he used in his job at Jay’s Transport. But most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly called him “Papa”. He would spend numerous hours in his yard during the summer months, and when the snow hit he was planning his Christmas light display. Andy was always happy making other people smile. He never turned down company for a drink, or someone in need. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten, always in our hearts and thoughts. Andy is survived by his loving family: the mother of his children Leona Read of Saskatoon; his two sons Andrew (Cara) Pete of Saskatoon, Michael Pete of Saskatoon; his loving grandchildren Allison and Devin Pete; his brothers Larry Pete of Prince Albert, Jim Pete of Prince Albert; his sisters Donna (Ron) Mihilewicz of White Star, Judy Friesen of Prince Albert, Pat (Fred) Palidwar of Surrey, BC; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents James and Catherine Pete; his grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles; his nephew Gerry Frank. Andy was born Thursday, October 27, 1955 at Prince Albert. Family and friends wishing to pay their last respects may do so on Thursday, April 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at River Park Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk will officiate. Interment to follow in the Garden of The Old Rugged Cross, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the charity of their choice.
