Allan Stewart
1940 ~ 2022

Allan Stewart was born on March 26, 1940, in Star City, SK, and passed away peacefully on November 17, 2022, in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 82 years.

Allan will forever be treasured by his daughters, Jo-Ann (Richard) and Angela (Greg), his grandchildren, Jesse (Tara), Hannah and Jackson. He will also be missed by his brothers, Ernie, Morley, sisters, Alice, Cheryl, Lorie, extended family and friends.

Allan was born in Star City, Saskatchewan and grew up on his family’s full working farm. He began his career in Melfort driving big rigs and joined the Pool Livestock Division in 1961 working his way up the ranks until he retired his manager position of the Prince Albert location in 1995. Allan then joined JGL Cattle three days later where he continued to serve his long-time cattle producers until his passing. He was also a grain farmer in the Star City area until few years ago. The words “not working” were not in his vocabulary.

Allan was predeceased by his best friend and wife of 61 years, Ruby on May 11, 2022. They spent most of their years together in Prince Albert. Allan was multi talented – whether it was racing chuckwagon and chariot or snowmobiles, building his log cottage at Candle Lake, pulling out his welder to build horse trailers or fixing anything. When he was not working, Allan enjoyed cottaging & fishing with Ruby, helping his neighbours and spending happy hour with friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family at home, at the lake or a road trip to Winnipeg.

Allan’s contribution to our world goes beyond what words can express – he was one of a kind and they broke the mold.

A Celebration of Allan’s Life will be held at a later date and posted here.
