Our beloved husband, father, grandpa and friend is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he loved and served faithfully in this life. Allan passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital in St. Thomas, Ontario. He was born on June 6, 1936, to parents Alvilda Myrtle and James Alfred Christopherson, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He and his beloved wife, Helen (Little) were proud parents of Cathy (Yinger) and Jeffrey, and raised them in a home filled with love and the model of parents completely committed to following God’s will for their lives. Allan was an expert welder and started several successful businesses in Prince Albert, until his retirement. He loved to sing and used his talents serving as volunteer music leader at Scarborough Baptist Church and in the church’s ministry to seniors at the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert for over 25 years. Allan was a great gardener and began a small market gardening business after his retirement, “The Garden of Eat’n.” Allan and his wife moved to St. Thomas, Ontario, in October of 2009, and immediately became involved in the ministries of Eastwood Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his mother and father. He will be greatly missed by wife Helen, daughter Cathy (Ken) Yinger, son Jeffrey (Laura) Christopherson, sisters Norma Hein and Elaine Watson, and grandchildren Shannon (Evan) Lichty, Joel Yinger, Kelley (Kurtis) Adams, and James Christopherson, and many nieces and nephews. The service will be held at Eastwood Baptist Church, 400 Wellington Street, St. Thomas, on Saturday, May 26, at 11:00 a.m. New and old friends will be conducting the service: Pastor Doug McGuire of St. Thomas, and Pastor Jack Conner of Margaree, Nova Scotia, formerly of Prince Albert. Memorial donations may be made to the ministry of Scarborough Baptist Church or the Canadian Cancer Society. Interment at Memorial Gardens in Prince Albert, at a later date.
