With extremely heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Alida St. Germain on July 17, 2015. At age 84, with her family by her side, Mom’s battle ended at Victoria Hospital. Mom was born on November 28, 1930, and raised in Duck Lake. She was the youngest of five children. Mom had a sense of humor like no one else. She always had a story to tell you. Mom and Dad were married on April 21, 1954, then later moved to Prince Albert in 1956. She was a very proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by ten children: Frieda, Shelia, Sharon, Gerald, Kenny (Barb), Larry (Irene), Randy (Debbie), Dewayne (Charmaine), Ronnie (Robin), and Gary; as well as her dog Fluffy “Babygirl”; 29 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents: Louise and John Baptist Parenteau; her husband, Emery St. Germain; her two daughters Shirley and Diane; her son Dennis; her sisters; her brothers; and her in-laws. Mom loved flowers, gardening and just being with family. Family gatherings were her favorite even if it meant a full house. She loved playing Thursday night bingo and watching Family Feud. She worked a few jobs, such as Princess Café, the fishery and as a school supervisor. We wish to thank the nurses at the Victoria Hospital on the 4th Floor, and Dr. Kemp for all their care and compassion. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, July 21 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Parish with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 22 from St. Mark Roman Catholic Church with Father Maurice Fiolleau officiating. Interment will take place at St. Laurent Shrine Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Prince Albert, 306 764-2727, Carla Jesso, Funeral Director.
