Alice Marie Painchaud
(June 2, 1918 – September 20, 2011)
Alice Marie Painchaud passed away peacefully at her home in the Saskatoon Convalescent Home September 20, 2011 at the age of 93 years.
Alice leaves to cherish her memory, her children Albert (Sharon) Painchaud of Saskatoon, Aline (Richard) Hiebert of Saskatoon, Therese Boutin of Terrace, BC, Lea (Dave) Olivier of Rosetown, Ludger Painchaud (Linda) of Salmon Arm, BC, Irene (Rick) Peerenboom of Saskatoon, Muriel Painchaud of Saskatoon, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as 6 sisters and 3 brothers. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred, a son Andrew, her parents, her brothers Armand, Philip, Paul, Lionel, a sister Yvette Henri.
Alice was born June 2, 1918 in Willow Bunch, Sk. As a young child, she moved to Leoville with her parents and siblings and grew up on the farm. She married Alfred Painchaud. Together, they raised 8 children and farmed.
She worked hard as a housekeeper. She enjoyed gardening, growing enough potatoes to feed her large family and to sell some in the fall. She also enjoyed knitting in her spare time. Alice moved to Saskatoon to be closer to her family. She enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday September 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Therese R.C. Church in Leoville; Sk. Interment will take place in the Leoville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
