1933 – 2013
Alfreda Mary Wilson (nee Sulewski) passed away on Saturday, March 2nd, 2013 at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 79 years. Alfreda was born December 25, 1933 at home in the Henribourg District. She was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life Charles in 2012; her parents Bronislawa and Michael Sulewski; her sister Irene (Rex) Hammill; two brothers Richard and Stanley Sulewski. Alfreda is survived by her four children: Brent (Ann), Douglas (Nadine), Sharon, Richard (Darlene); her grandchildren Shawn (Tonja), Scott (Sara), Dean (Alicia), Kirk (Cindy), Matthew (Katie), Bridgett (Chris), Lacey, Markus, Blake, Amy and Rikki-Jean; great-grandchildren Casey, Reid, Hannah, Laura, Ella; her sisters Helen Rogers, Jessie (John) Pask, Phyllis (Earl) Mickelson, Rosa Beaton; her sister-in-law Cecile Sulewski; her brothers Henry Sulewski, Edward (Joan) Sulewski, Mike Sulewski. Alfreda is best remembered by her family for her love of gardening, her flowers, knitting, solving crosswords, playing cards, and in her later years she took up painting. She hosted many family celebrations and holiday gatherings. Alfreda especially enjoyed the company of her friends from the MacDowall area. We will always remember Mom for her homemade bread, her kind heart and her great wisdom. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 from the MacDowall Lions Recreation Centre. Reverend Tony Thompson will officiate. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the Deer Park Cemetery at a later date. It is the family’s request that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MacDowall Recreation Centre.
