Alexandre Georget

Alexandre Jules “Alex” Georget passed away on Sunday November 23, 2014 at the age of 68 at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Alex was born on March 17, 1946 in Prince Albert, SK., to Alexandre and Albertine Georget. He married Lucille Roy in August of 1967 and they had three children, Susan, Jacqueline and Kenneth. Alex enjoyed truck driving and the retail interaction with people. When Alex first left home he started working with the Co-op Retail System. In 1973, Alex and his young family moved to Prince Albert, where he enjoyed a career in the Co-op Dairy. When Co-op Dairy downsized in 1976, he went to work for Pioneer Grain as a Grain Buyer in Domremy, SK. From there he started farming with his dad and became a School Bus Driver for 30 years. He enjoyed hockey, bowling, curling, and coaching his son’s hockey team. He was an avid Montreal Canadian fan and Roughrider Fan. Alex was very community minded and volunteered for many town projects. He enjoyed gardening with his wife and took extreme pride in his yard. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, whom all hold special memories and knowledge that he so enthusiastically would share with them. Alex had many friends of all ages and interests. He had a way to make everyone he encountered feel like they mattered and that what they had to share with them was important to him. He enjoyed people! Alex enjoyed traveling anywhere that he could drive. Appreciating the beauty in Nature and what the Canadian scenery had to offer. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with friends and family. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 47 years, Lucille; his children: Susan (Ken Erdman), Jacqueline (Denny) Vachon, and Kenneth (Sheila); his grand-children: Ashton Bessette, Chelsea Bessette (Jamie Snelgrove), Courtney Bessette, Madison Bessette, Cheradyn Bessette, Dawson Bessette, Jordain Vachon, Laura Vachon, Grayson Vachon, Keanna Georget, Colton Georget and Kaley Georget; his brother Albert (Lynne) Georget; his sisters Diane (Thuribe) Bussiere and Jeannette (Alexis) Gaudet; his in-laws: Robert (Vicki) Roy, Fred (Debbie) Roy, John Roy, Lillian (Jack) Melnyk, Roseanne (Andre)Denis, Muriel Gaudet (Claudette) and Philip Roy (Tono); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexandre and Albertine Georget, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Florence Roy, his infant brother Joseph Georget, his brother-in-law Roger Roy Jr., and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law George and Evelyn Roy. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the st. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church in Domremy on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m with Rev. Fr. Ramel Macapala as celebrant. Cremation will follow with Interment of the Urn at a later date in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in Alex’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
