Alexandra Lucy Hiadachuk (nee Karpish) of Prince Albert passed away peacefully at Rose Garden Hospice on Thursday, November 9th, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born on June 30th, 1932, in Honeymoon, SK. Lucy married Sam Hiadachuk on May 9th, 1959, in Honeymoon, SK. They settled down in Prince Albert, SK, where they raised their three daughters, Linda, Debbie and Lori. Lucy was a stay at home mom. When the girls were old enough, she ventured out to work in food services at various places, such as The Marlborough, The Bay and Bonanza. She had many interests. She loved to travel, bowl, knit, crochet, do word finds, cooking, baking, canning and to take many walks outdoors.
Lucy was a member of The Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Prince Albert where she enjoyed being a part of the church choir, christmas caroling and the perogy bees. Lucy was a very social lady. Family, friends and neighbors were always welcome at her home. They enjoyed visiting or playing cards together. She loved her grand-pets Sandy, Ollie, Simba and Rosie.
Lucy will be lovingly remembered by her dear husband Sam; her three daughters, Linda
(Stephen) Tkatchuk, Debbie (Glen) Hiadachuk, Lori (Robert) Parker; her grandchildren Chelsea and Sierra Parker, Dalisha (Theo) Parker and Luke (Caitlyn) Tkatchuk; her sisters Mary Zbaraschuk, Iris Wasylenko, her sister-in-laws, Sophie Karpish and Olga Karpish and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel & Johanna Karpish; Sam’s parents, Harry and Anna Hiadachuk; her brothers, Peter, Bill, and Bud Karpish; her sisters, Helen Denysiuk and Olga Parchomuk; brothers-in-law, Tom Denysuik, Steve Wasylenko, Frank Zbaraschuk; her sister-in-law, Nancy Karpish; Sam’s brothers, Dan Chura, Peter and Bill Hiadachuk and sister Lena and brother-in-law Elmer Bolen.
The Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 13th, 2023 at River Park Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023 at The Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Prince Albert.
Thanks to Father Michal for all his visits with Lucy, they always brightened her day. Thanks to the 6th floor staff at the Victoria Union Hospital for the care she received during her stay. Thanks to Dr. Mark Halyk for her care throughout her life and Dr. Alanna Surkin for her hospice care. Thanks to the incredible staff who became a part of our family at Rose Garden Hospice for the exceptional care they provided Lucy.
